Start 2023 by Celebrating YOU!
Happy New Year! Those three words carry so much optimism and potential – new beginnings, fresh starts, and possibilities.
Lots of New Year resolutions focus on things we want to change…as if the start of a new year will be the catalyst we’ve been waiting for to take action we’ve been thinking about for a while.
All too often, we focus on fixing things we think are flaws. “This year, I’ll lose weight, exercise more, spend more time with family, or [fill in the blank].”
Statistics tell us that over 80% of the time, resolutions based on fixing something fail. One reason I think this happens is that there’s not a lot of joy in doing repair work.
This year, let’s try something different. Instead of fixing something, let’s focus on dusting off our natural strengths and doing more of what we do naturally well.
There’s a lot of joy to be found in feeling good about who you are!
Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.

This year, let’s Celebrate YOU!
-
Celebrate the things you do well.
-
Celebrate the compliments you receive.
-
Celebrate the satisfaction you feel when you do what you do best.
-
Celebrate that you can’t do everything and allow yourself to feel relieved that you don’t have to.
-
Celebrate that not everyone sees the world as you do, and that’s okay. Because without other people being different, you can’t shine as brightly with your unique strengths.
-
Celebrate the full range and depth of your natural potential. Flaws will lose importance when you focus on standing in your strengths.
To help you on your journey of celebration, we are excited to announce that our Perceptual Style™ action guides – CELEBRATE YOU, Claim Your Strengths, Transform Your Life – will be available on Amazon in ebook and paperback formats beginning January 16th!
Meanwhile, start your celebration by taking these three easy steps:
-
List three things you do well and that you enjoy doing.
-
Look for opportunities in the next two weeks to do those three things more often.
-
Take a moment while you are doing one of those things to acknowledge your enjoyment and your capability.
That’s it. Three simple steps to start a full year of celebration!
Until next time - rely on your strengths and laugh a little every day!
